DESCRIPTION:April’s MPS photo walk is an evening event in the city. \n‘Harbour Lights’ Photo Walk  \nJoin Peter Sherlock when he leads a Macarthur Photographic Society Photo Walk around Darling Harbour. \nItinerary: The opportunities are\, \n• Start at Observatory Hill for a Sunset shoot. Accessible by Trains to Circular Quay.\n• Sunset.\n• Walk to Cockle Bay via Barangaroo (Bring your walking shoes).\n• Reflections Workshop. Meet under Pyrmont Bridge on the City Side of Cockle Bay.\n• Finish Workshop then make your own way home. Trains from Town Hall. \nMeals: Dinner to be arrange separately by each member and can be either before the 6.00pm Start or after the Workshop at 8.30 – 8\,45pm. \nTransport: Parking in Sussex Street or Darling Harbour area or by trains at suggested locations above \nAim of the Workshop: We will be focusing on reflections in the water. The local building signs and window lighting reflect well in the inky water at night.\nYou will be shooting with high ISOs and quick shutter speeds\, having a portable tripod would be advantageous.\nPeter will help you identify reflected subjects and suggest ways to setup for your shot. \nA great opportunity for beginners to get off Auto and shoot in Manual so research the Exposure Triangle. Peter urges any members who wants to learn how to use the manual setting on your camera to ask questions and experienced club members will help you with the answers. \n  \nContact the Society Secretary for more information and to register your attendance.

A maximum of 5 entries per member with a maximum of 2 entries for any category. \n  \nA Little about Ben Halcomb; \n \n7CHAIRS is the creative brainchild of Sydney based commercial photographer Ben Halcomb. \nThe name 7CHAIRS derives from the fact that in the family there are 5 kids and 2 adults\, so in the early days we needed 7Chairs to go anywhere. The kids may be older now but Sunday family dinners still mean a full house. \n7CHAIRS was founded in its current form back in 2012\, and the primary focus of 7CHAIRS is photographing people in all sorts of scenarios\, from weddings\, portraits and commercial environments\, something we really enjoy is working with different people in different situations. \n7CHAIRS is based in western Sydney in Australia but travel all over the world to service clients\, we have shot weddings and commercial work in places throughout the USA and parts of the Asia Pacific. \nSome of 7CHAIRS regular clients include Sydney Markets\, Arnott’s Australia\, Sennheiser Australia/NZ\, Clarendon Homes\, Morningstar Investments\, Greenstone Financial\, WentWest Health\, Australia National Construction Review\, Lion\, Penrith City Council\, Penrith Valley Chamber\, Iris Capital and many more. \nWith nearly 30 years experience\, Ben is a multi-award-winning photographer who has been playing with all sorts of cameras ever since leaving school back in 1989. \nHaving shot over 600 weddings in his career \, it is fair to say that Ben loves helping couples to capture their special day in a way that brings their individual spirit – and love – to life. \nFor the past 30 years\, Ben has been shooting as well as weddings all sorts of corporate events and functions\, over the years\, there is not much that he has not photographed. \n

A maximum of 5 entries per member with a maximum of 2 entries for any category. \nA little about our judge Linda \nLinda Fury is a passionate 40-something year old Australian award winning photographer based in the Illawarra region of New South Wales. Linda is a very active member of many photography groups and is currently the youngest President of the Kiama-Shellharbour Camera Club. \nPhotographic Journey \n Linda has been an avid photographer from a very young age. She loved taking images with her little camera and then dropping the rolls of film off the camera shop then waiting weeks to have them returned to her. Opening the packet of photos was always a delight \nLinda has been using Pentax cameras for the past 20 years and has been a regular featured photographer on the Pentax Facebook page. \nShe has been on many holidays both in Australia and over the world\, and always comes back with thousands of photos. She gets to understand different cultures with the power of her photography. \nOne of her photos from her trip to Myanmar won the 2016 Changi Airport Photographer of the Year award – which she was awarded an overseas holiday. \nShe has taken out the double of Colour & Monochrome Photographer of the year in 2017 and Monochrome Photographer of the year in 2018 at the Kiama Shellharbour Camera Club’s annual awards. \nHer latest trip to Scotland has produced some great results for her in various competitions\, but most notably a finalist in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards. \nLinda decided to improve on her photographic journey by becoming a judge at club levels. She has judged at many local clubs and has recently judged at the Western Districts Interclub competition held in Parkes. She has recently shown her “Street Photography” presentation to many clubs and it has been received quite well. \nLinda doesn’t have a favourite genre of photography but prefers to experiment and have fun with her camera. \nYou can see her work – Linda Fury Photography on both Facebook and Instagram. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:2020 Interclub Challenge \nThree clubs will go head to head in this friendly interclub challenge to battle for bragging rights. \nThe three clubs are St George Leagues Club Photographic Society\,  Macarthur Photographic Society and Port Hacking Camera Club. \nThis event will be hosted by Port Hacking Camera Club. Members of all three clubs are invited to attend dinner before hand at the Nulla Cafe in Cronulla and then onto the club at (Upstairs of) 6 Surf Road\, Cronulla to support their club and hear a critique of images by the independent judge\, Tanya Du Toit\, then the final scores will be revealed! \nEach club will be submitting 30 images and the judge will provide an individual score out of a possible 20 for each image\, resulting in a club total score.
